The 2016 SEMA Show is right around the corner and one of our favorite things to do at the show is to check out all the vehicles that are on display. One such show-worthy rig is being built by Hellwig.

We are building this truck at LGE-CTS Motorsports in San Dimas, California,” Luke Walsh of Hellwig Products explained. “It is a 2016 Nissan Titan XD that we are turning into the perfect overlanding truck”

With SEMA only weeks away the push is on to get the vehicle put together for the show.

“The idea behind the vehicle was to build a versatile truck that looks good enough for a show like SEMA, but could also hold its own off-road and off the grid,” Walsh continued. “The truck is scheduled to go on a number of overlanding excursions after the show. We felt that the new Nissan Titan XD would be a great platform thanks to its powerful Cummins diesel engine, and the tough and rugged look of the truck. It would be something different and fresh. The Titan XD matched with our custom vinyl-wrapped Lance Truck Camper would make for a rig you can’t miss.”

The Titan received parts from a number of great sponsors, including Lance Campers, a leveling kit from Icon Vehicle Dynamics, 4-inch DPF exhaust from Magnaflow, camper mounts and tie downs from Torklift International, Method Wheels, Falken Tires, N-Fab nerf bar, Fab Fours bumper, Warn winch, Baja Designs lights, Hypertech tire size programmer, and Bolt Locks.

What is a Hellwig build without one of its swaybars installed?

They are taking a different approach to installing a winch on the truck. “Instead of having a permanently mounted winch, we’re adding a trailer hitch to the front,” Walsh said. “This way the winch can be mounted to either the front or the back of the truck.”
