There are jobs.
There are careers.
And then there are opportunities that involve chasing race trucks through the desert, crawling under heavily modified rigs with a camera in one hand and a notebook in the other, arguing about tire pressures at midnight around a campfire, and somehow calling it “work.”
This is one of those.
Off Road Xtreme is looking for its next Editor — someone who understands that off-roading isn’t just a hobby. It’s a lifestyle, a culture, and occasionally an excuse to buy another set of lights you absolutely don’t need.
We’re looking for someone who can tell stories that matter to enthusiasts. Someone who knows the difference between a mall crawler and a purpose-built trail rig before the hood is even popped. Someone who gets excited about suspension geometry, fabrication work, trail repairs, race coverage, and the latest products hitting the market.
If you’ve ever found yourself taking 300 photos at an off-road event because you “might use them later,” or if you’ve spent more time writing build updates than actually sleeping during a project crunch, keep reading.
This role puts you in the driver’s seat of Off Road Xtreme’s editorial direction. You’ll be creating and managing content across the site and social channels, covering everything from hardcore rock crawlers and overland rigs to race trucks, UTVs, diesel tow pigs, shop builds, and the people who make this community what it is.
Some days you’ll be writing feature stories or product reviews. Other days you’ll be coordinating contributors, covering events, shooting photos and video, or figuring out how to explain a complicated suspension setup in a way that makes sense to readers who are halfway through installing one in their garage.
You’ll work alongside a team of automotive enthusiasts who genuinely care about the content we create. At POWER Automedia, we live this stuff. We believe cars and trucks create communities, adventures, and unforgettable experiences. Off-road culture is no different. Whether it’s King of the Hammers, a local trail ride, or somebody wrenching late into the night to make the next trip happen, we want to tell those stories better than anyone else.
This isn’t a corporate desk job pretending to be “cool.” We want someone who actually understands the off-road world because they’ve lived it.
You should probably apply if:
- Your camera roll is full of trucks flexing on rocks.
- You’ve ever described a vacation as “mostly trail access.”
- You can spot quality fabrication work from 20 feet away.
- You know that every off-road build eventually becomes “while we’re in there…”
- You understand that the best stories usually start with “this probably isn’t a good idea.”
Experience in automotive media, photography, video, social media, or content creation definitely helps. So does knowing your way around WordPress, Photoshop, and modern content platforms. But more than anything, we’re looking for passion, creativity, and someone who genuinely wants to build the best off-road content on the internet.
The position can be based out of our Temecula, California office, or handled remotely/hybrid for the right candidate. Some travel is involved, because it turns out the best off-road stories don’t usually happen in conference rooms.
If this sounds like your kind of adventure, we want to hear from you.
Send your resume, writing samples, social links, videos, photos, build threads, race coverage, or anything else that shows us who you are and why you belong behind the wheel at Off Road Xtreme.
Because the dirt never stops flying — and neither do we.
