Coming off an epic year in the Lucas Oil Off Road Racing Series (LOORRS), Darren Hardesty Jr. is vying for another win with the Champion Spark Plug “Search for a Champion” contest. The LOORRS championship may have been settled on the track, this contest is up to the public.
Hardesty Jr. fought to become one of 25 finalists fighting for the grand prize which includes $50,000 sponsorship from Champion Auto Parts. “It’s a pretty cool feeling knowing that out of hundreds of people, we made it to the top 25 in the Champing Spark Plugs ‘Search for a Champion’ contest,” Darren Hardesty Jr. said. “There is lots of good competition out there, but I am confident that my team and I can win.”

For those of you who do not know Darren, he is a third generation offroad racer following in the footsteps of his Father Darren Hardesty Sr, and Grandfather Earl; both desert racing champions.
“Another year of the highly competitive Pro Buggy class is almost here, I am coming back and defending the title,” Hardesty Jr. continued. “This year will be an exciting year because new drivers have come into the class and there is going to be some tough competition. I can’t wait to hop back in the driver’s seat and compete for the 2017 title.”

Hardesty Jr. will also begin his pursuit for another Pro Buggy championship a day later in Lake Elsinore, California for the opening round of the 2017 LOORRS season. The winner of the 2017 Search for a Champion will be announced on April 4th.
