The cleverly run GoPro commercials have a way of taking viewers to places they’d rarely see otherwise, providing some incredible video angles and coverage from motorsports all over the world. Of course, many off-road drivers have jumped on this train, creating epic videos of their own with the help of the GoPro lineup. Formula Off Road Iceland driver Ingólfur Guðvarðarson is one of them and the epic mishap he captured on a series of GoPros is priceless. Check out the video above!
Iceland’s Formula Off Road series is much like the Southern Rock Racing Series or any similar event, where guys with purpose-built rigs test the limits of their trucks and their driving skills as they scale rock walls, climb hills and take on some of the toughest terrain the world has to offer.
This summer, driver Ingólfur Guðvarðarson borrowed a vehicle to participate in one of the Formula Off Road events. But this wasn’t just any vehicle- it was the 1,600 hp, turbocharged beast known as Katla.

Chances are Guðvarðarson and his buddies will be double checking that the steering wheel is properly secured next time any of them get behind the wheel of such an incredible monster of a vehicle. Luckily, both driver and the car were okay and were able to continue on in the competition later that day.
