American Trucks specializes in providing quality components for American domestic pick-up trucks and one of the tools they use to market their website is their video series “The Haul”. The hosts of the show, Justin Dugan, Adam Maqboul and Travis Noonan, cover just about every facet of accessorizing and styling American-made trucks as well as product reviews and comparisons.
The above video is a recent one where Justin compares a Roush Supercharged F150 against a built Ford Raptor. Earlier this year, The Haul covered a video review of the 2019 Roush F150 SC and, as Justin explains in the video, the discussion was had on which was the better truck for the money. At roughly $80,000 each, which would you choose? The 650 horsepower Roush F150 SC or Justin’s built Ford Raptor.
The two trucks are definitely individuals in many ways but there are of course similarities. Each has pros and cons and while the video does admittedly tend to lean towards the Raptor, the Roush is no slouch. Throughout the video, Justin breaks down a long list of bullet points to compare directly.
Many of the items on the list come down to personal preference and/or what the driver intends to do with the truck. Points for suspension travel and off-road capability goes to the Raptor. The interiors of the trucks even get directly compared, especially the steering wheels and gauge clusters.
Where the Roush takes their own points is probably the main reason this comparison even happened, the engine. The engines compared are the Raptor’s high output 3.5L Ecoboost twin-turbo boost engine and the Roush’s 5.0L Coyote V8 with a Roush Supercharger.
Check out the video to see the whole comparison and hear what Justin has to say about the powertrain differences. Make sure to share with us which you would choose and why.
