2015 has not been kind to Formula Drift Champion Vaughn Gittin Jr., ending his drifting season early with a hard crash at Irwindale Raceway that keeps him out of the final contest. Even with his drifting career on hiatus until his 2015 Mustang is ready for duty next year, Gittin is finding ways to have fun and keep his skills sharp, including quality time behind the wheel of the Ultimate Fun Haver F-150.
Unveiled at last year’s SEMA event, Gittin felt it was time to dust the Ultimate Fun Haver off and take it for a spin as part of Nitto’s Driving Line blog.
The Ultimate Fun Haver is essentially an F-150 with an unlimited budget and a drifting maniac for a designer, packing a twin-turbo 3.5 liter EcoBoost V6 under the aluminum hood of this 2015 pickup. The Supercrew model sends power to the rear wheels through a six-speed automatic transmission. It also wears Nitto Terria Grapper G2 tires for ultimate grip, even in the shiftiest terrains. It’s just as home on the road as it is off it, with room for five death-defying passengers.
Utilizing an Air Lift suspension, the Ultimate Fun Haver F-150 is able to race on-road and off thanks to its adjustable ride height. King Shocks, Currie floating rear end, and a Magnaflow cut-out exhaust round out what’s essentially the ultimate evolution of the Ford Raptor. All of this is powered by a stock (except for air filter and tune) 3.5 liter EcoBoost V6, which you can see really work its magic in the last minute of the video, as Gittin finally stops talking and starts driving.
