You’ve all seen plenty of winning racers kicking sand in their opponent’s faces with the Toyo tires on their competition vehicles. Those Toyos sure look good bolted up to a tall diesel truck too, providing outstanding tread-wear durability and load-carrying capability. However, that’s not the only thing Toyo tires are good for. It turns out the company’s product is good for testing a person’s physical endurance as well as Tough Mudder.
For all these reasons and more, Toyo Tire U.S.A. has become involved with Tough Mudder, a test of human endurance that is probably one of the toughest events on the planet. Tough Mudder is a team-oriented 10 to 12 mile obstacle course designed to test physical strength and mental grit. An emphasis is placed on team building and camaraderie rather than individual success. Each event allows participants to experience exhilarating, yet safe, world-class obstacles they won’t find anywhere else.
Among the many obstacles that Tough Mudder participants will face this year is the Toyo Tires Skidmarked. It’s a ten-foot wall that is angled backward, making it an especially difficult climb for participants. Teams must work together to get up and over the wall.
In addition to Tough Mudder, Toyo Tires is also the Official Tire of Mudderella and Urban Mudder. Two take-offs on Tough Mudder, Mudderella is a five to seven mile obstacle course, designed by women for women; while Urban Mudder is a five mile city-based obstacle course. Just one of the challenges for Mudderella participants is called Wheels in Motion, an obstacle of tire swings built out of Toyo tires, designed to test agility and balance.
