The side-by-side market is blowing up, and every model that gets released seems to be pushing the market further and further. Polaris recently announced another gamechanger, the 2020 RZR Pro XP all while celebrating their 65th anniversary.
“There’s no better way to celebrate the 65th anniversary of Polaris than by introducing world-class off-road machines that truly elevate each brand’s product offering,” said Chris Musso, President of Polaris Off Road. “The all-new RZR Pro XP takes drivers to the next level and is the most capable, most agile and most versatile RZR we have ever built. The Ranger 1000 and Ranger Crew 1000 offer consumer-inspired improvements to get more done and are the ultimate combination of price and performance, while the newly designed Sportsman and Scrambler boast the first-ever, 55-inch wide ATV chassis, offering riders the most capable machines on the market.”
The RZR for 2020 receives an all-new platform that is packed with features and industry firsts. Polaris once again has pushed the envelope of what a side-by-side is capable of.
The 2020 Polaris RZR Pro XP is capable of handling any terrain.
With a host of new features, the 2020 RZR Pro XP has something new in and out of the vehicle increasing driver comfort and performance. Each Pro XP model packs 181 horsepower, 20- and 22-inches of usable travel, and a brand new 96-inch wheelbase with eight-times stronger axles and a three-times stronger drive system.
“Polaris was founded on innovation, and today, we are proud to continue that trend, completely raising the bar in performance side-by-sides with the all-new RZR Pro XP,” Musso said. “We designed the Pro XP platform from the inside out and put the driver at the center of every possible aspect of the machine. The result is the most capable and versatile RZR we have ever built. It is an incredible machine.”
Built From The Inside Out
With the “Built from the inside out,” motto, the Polaris took a good look at driver comfort and introduced features to make the drive that much more comfortable. The RZR Pro XP features lower seating position, six-point retractable harness, flat-bottom steering wheel with industry-first telescoping adjustability, four-way sport seats that tilt and slide, and all in an additional four inches of width and six inches of length to the Pro XP cockpit.
But wait there’s more! Inside the cockpit, there is also a seven-inch display with Ride Command which has GPS, Bluetooth, Group Ride feature with vehicle-to-vehicle pairing for convenient tracking on the trails. The steering wheel brings the controls all within reach of the driver.
The interior of the Polaris RZR Pro XP has a ton of new features. From new factory-installed speakers to a telescoping steering wheel, the Pro XP has it all and keeps driver comfort at the forefront.
RZR Pro XP Performance
Power is key in a vehicle as small as side-by-sides are. Polaris left no expense with they produced an all-new engine for the RZR Pro XP which is rated at 181 horsepower.
“The Pro XP’s new engine is fitted with a larger turbo and is now water-cooled for more reliable cooling and heat dissipation – ultimately creating more boost,” Musso explained. “With a powerband focused on snappier acceleration in the 20-50 miles per hour range, the Pro XP allows drivers to maintain speeds on tight trails and tackle even the most technical terrain. Adding to the machine’s handling is an all-new chassis with a 96-inch wheelbase that provides improved straight-line stability without compromising the machine’s agility.”
Sand or rocks, regardless of where you take the Polaris RZR Pro XP it will be able to get the job done.
RZR Pro XPs have a track width of 64 inches and feature an AWD system that engages when the tires slip by just three degrees. The AWD system will work at any speed and not feature any clunky or reduced steering.
The RZR Pro XP features a new calibration for the Dynamix suspension. This new suspension is dubbed Dynamix 2.0 and is controlled by buttons on the steering wheel. Dynamix “X” mode firms up the suspension and prevents bottoming out situations. Pro XP side-by-sides will come with a 30-inch Maxxis Carnivore tire, which is the largest tire that has been put on a factory 64-inch side-by-side and gives the RZR Pro XP a total of 14.5 inches of ground clearance.
