Every year automotive companies, manufacturers, and some lucky enthusiasts head to Las Vegas, Nevada for the SEMA Show. A show that seems to be on every automotive connoisseur has on their bucket list.
RSO Performance along with a few other are taking a new direction to get to the show – Sea to SEMA. The plan is to head from San Diego, California and drive to the show completely on dirt. The team will make a couple fuel stops, but other than that they will be completely self-sustained.
“SEMA has become a show about bubblegum rigs, vehicles you take to the show to let everyone see what you can do,” Tyler Francis said. “We wanted to take it to another level. Build the best of the best, drive them off-road, and show up at SEMA fresh off the trails. We are getting to the show the night before the show and rolling the vehicle into the show as they sit.”
Tyler’s vehicle may be loaded down with everything he is going to need for the trip, but the vehicle did not always look this way. It was his gift for graduating high school and has been a project ever since. He could not get it running before going off to college, but since his return, it has been a labor of love.
“Everyone that has come on board for the project is excited about the trek,” Tyler explained. “We have been able to team up with companies that want to put the product to the test on an incredible journey like this.”
On board with this build is Advance Mufflers, Bend Tech, Bilstein, Blue’s Transmission, Energy Suspension, Factor 55, Falken Tire, Flex-A- Lite, Genesis Off Road, Gibson Performance, Hinterland Industries, Industrial Metal Supply, Magellan GPS, Method Race Wheels, Mother’s Polish, Nitro Gear, Odyssey Battery, Off-Road Solutions, Outer Limit Supply, Powermaster Performance, Power Tank, Pull Pal, Rugged Radios, Scrubblade, 4X4 S-pod, Superwinch, Torq-Masters, Tuffy Products, Tembo Tusk, and VisionX.
Stay tuned as we will catch up with the team at the show in November and see how their trip went. The best part of the trip is the vehicles will not be cleaned off before the show, they will drive in as dirty as they get.
