One of our favorite parts about heading out to a short-course race is getting to know the guys behind the helmet and in the driver’s seat. Justin Peck has been able to accomplish back-to-back series champion in off-road motorcycles, USRA series champion, The Challenge of America series national winner and third overall, UKC multi-time series champion and has more than 200 trophies and awards for winning races in every form of motorsports he’s competed in.

In addition to being the owner of RacePro Technologies race team, he is also the founder of Gear49 Motorsports Nutrition. We were able to catch up with Justin who is a man of many talents.

Justin Peck at rounds 13 and 14 in Lake Elsinore, California for the Lucas Oil Off Road Racing Series.

“Off-road racing has always been a huge part of my life,” Justin said. “I started out by riding dirt bikes with my dad at a young age, bought my first dirt bike at 20 and have been racing ever since. I have always loved off-road because I feel it takes a certain type of talent to be able to navigate the dirt and be fast.”

If you have ever talked to a short-course driver you know that the sport is different than everything else. “Short-course racing is unlike anything I can explain. The best way to explain is it’s like being in a 30-minute car crash or even a shotgun fight in a closet,” Justin explained. “The fierce competition is an addiction and honestly, who wouldn’t anyone like jumping a full-size truck 150 feet lap after lap!”

The weekend may not have gone as planned, but Justin Peck has big plans for next year.

The weekend in Lake Elsinore may not have gone as planned, but that does not mean it is time to give up. Justin and the team have big plans for next year. “Next year we are looking to add two more race cars to our team,” Justin said. “A Pro 2 in short-course and a Class 1 in the desert which will give us a total of 11 race cars for the team. We are always looking to grow as a team, as drivers, and feel we are on the right path to accomplish the goals of 2017.”

The team and Justin have one weekend left in 2016. If you are headed out to Chandler, Arizona for the season finale make sure you stop by his pit and say hello.
