What is the point of an aftermarket exhaust system? Well, the Ford engineers worked hard to keep the new Bronco as quiet as possible. The vehicle puts out significant ambient road noise. This mainly stems from both the hard-top and soft-top configurations not being very insulated or effective in reducing audible feedback. Available as a single exit with a 5-inch straight-cut tip, or dual exit with 4.5-inch slash-cut tips, or no tip at all, you can pretty much get it sorted to best match your vehicle’s look. The tip finishes come in chrome silver or diamond black and are all double-walled construction for extra styling points. One other cool feature regarding the tips is that they are fully adjustable. The Science Behind The Sound And The Not So Secret Sauce

AWE’s patented 180 Technology® is the sauce behind the resonating exhaust performance. Basically, they explain it like this; “As exhaust gases exit the engine and flow into an AWE 180 Technology®-equipped resonator, they pass through strategically located ports, and into reflection chambers. Sound waves, carried by these exhaust gasses, bounce off the walls of the reflection chambers.  Depending on the sound requirements of each vehicle, AWE acoustic engineers adjust the size and location of the ports and the chambers.  By controlling the size and location of these key elements, we also control when the sound waves exit the chambers.  The specific timing of when the reflected sound waves re-join the main exhaust flow creates a one-hundred-and-eighty-degree out-of-phase sound wave that cancels out problematic frequencies.”
