First Look: Flowmaster Gets Into CAI Market To Improve Air Flow

cai-1

With performance vehicles, it’s always been about the air flow: the air coming into your engine, and the air exiting your engine. After all, your engine is, simply put, a big air pump. When you think of the air coming out of the engine, it must flow freely, and yet in order to make power it has to create some back pressure. More power can be generated with some back pressure – blow through a straw and through a cardboard tube, you get the idea.

Making that air flow better, and having a distinct sound, has been the Flowmaster mantra since its beginning. From headers to mufflers to full systems with custom tips, Flowmaster has created that signature sound while helping to create power.

But getting power out of an engine is only part of the equation. Getting enough airflow into the engine is the another function that helps make power, and with that in mind Flowmaster is getting into the CAI (cold air intake) market with new Delta Force Cold Air Intakes.

Flowmaster states, “The factory air filter assemblies have restrictions, such as built-in silencers, tight and reduced bends, disposable cheap paper elements etc., so improving upon those limitations by offering less restrictive air intake designs just makes sense, especially when matching them with our proven cat-back exhaust systems to maximize the engines power and efficiency.”

Flowmaster listened to its customers and sales staff, and after hearing enough requests for Flowmaster cold air intakes to complement its exhaust systems, and now it’s happening, with performance matched packages showing proven results.

Beginning in May 2017, Flowmaster Delta Force CAIs will begin shipping; with coverage including many popular late model vehicles: Camaro, Mustang, Challenger and Charger (including Hellcat models), GM 1500 trucks and SUVs, Dodge/RAM trucks, Jeep Wrangler, and Toyota Tundra. More models will be added regularly to get full coverage for a complete air flow system, from inlet to outlet.

Initial release on May 1 will include (videos attached):

  • Part # 615105 – 2005-2017 Dodge Challenger R/T, Charger R/T, Magnum R/T, and Chrysler 300C w/5.7L Hemi and 2006-2010 SRT8 models w/6.1L Hemi Engine
