Brock Heger, driving for Polaris RZR Factory Racing, delivered a commanding performance to win the King of the Hammers (KOH) UTV Hammers Championship.
Heger not only secured the victory but also became the only driver to complete the grueling course in under four hours. He finished a remarkable 26 minutes ahead of his nearest competitor.
This win marks a historic achievement for Heger, completing an unprecedented “Triple Crown” in off-road racing. He adds the KOH UTV title to his recent victories at the 2024 Baja 1000 and the 2025 Dakar Rally. A solid feat that’s never been accomplished by any other driver.
Behind the wheel of his specially modified Gen 1 RZR Pro R Factory, Heger executed a flawless race strategy. After qualifying third, he quickly moved to the front of the pack during the desert portion of the race.
By mile 50, he had already established a nearly two-minute lead. His plan was to gain an advantage in the desert to better position himself for the challenging rockcrawling sections that define King of the Hammers.
While Heger did encounter two minor setbacks in the rocks, he chose to power through rather than use his winch. He demonstrated his skill and confidence in his vehicle while tackling these setbacks.
The RZR Pro R Factory proved its durability throughout the race, requiring no fuel stops thanks to its 130-liter fuel cell. Clearly a significant advantage over its competitors.
“I’m stoked to come away with another win and to put Polaris back on top,” Heger said. He described the race as the “hardest King of the Hammers” he’d competed in but praised the flawless performance of his RZR Pro R Factory.
Alex Scheuerell, RZR Factory Racing Technical Director, lauded Heger’s performance. He stated, “Over the past few months, Brock has solidified himself as a legendary name in off-road racing.” Scheuerell highlighted the combination of Heger’s racing expertise, his ability to adapt to the challenging terrain, and the “unbeatable performance” of the Pro R Factory as key factors in the victory. Heger and the RZR Factory Racing team will next compete at the Mint 400 in Las Vegas, Nevada, from March 5-9, 2025.
