2020 Jeep Wrangler Has 3.0-Liter V6 Diesel Option With Huge Torque

The Jeep Wrangler is a series of four-wheel-drive, off-road-ready, SUV that has been manufactured since 1986. Now, years later, the Wrangler continues to be one of the most popular purchased vehicles on the planet and now, they may be dipping into a new area of clients as the 2020 Jeep Wrangler now has an option to fitted with a 3.0-liter V6 diesel engine.

Is this a new engine? Actually, no. You can find this same EcoDiesel 3.0-liter engine in the Ram 1500 trucks. That means you’ll have an off-road capable Wrangler with 260 horsepower and 442 lb-ft of torque. Compared to the turbocharged gasoline option, the EcoDiesel holds nearly the same horsepower and almost 150 lb-ft of torque more.

Regardless of one's opinion on the diesel option, you have to admit something that is so trail-capable, it will be cool to have that low-end-torque the diesel will offer.

If you do purchase the new EcoDiesel Wrangler, your new ride will be backed by the eight-speed automatic transmission which is a new unit for Jeep as they needed something to withstand the engines increased torque numbers. As with all the other Wrangler models, there are multiple transfer-case and differential configurations and will come standard four-wheel-drive.

As for fuel economy, the ratings haven’t been released yet. But, it has been said that the EcoDiesel will offer improved numbers over the turbocharged four-cylinder model which is capable of 21 mpg. The 3.0-liter will be available on four-door Sport, Rubicon, and Sahara models. Although the diesel-powered Wrangler comes with huge perks, the price point will likely follow.

The diesel-equipped Wranglers will be labeled with a significant badge.

Stay tuned to the near future as Jeep will release more information about the prices, options, and more. For more information about the Jeep models, head over to the Jeep website.
