Jeep’s ongoing Twelve 4 Twelve Wrangler series has reached its 10th installment, and this time the brand is heading into the mountains. Unveiled at the 14th annual Smoky Mountain Invasion in Pigeon Forge, Tennessee, the new 2027 Jeep Wrangler Smoky Mountain special edition combines the trail-ready hardware of the Wrangler Willys with a long list of exclusive touches inspired by the Great Smoky Mountains.
It’s a fitting venue for Jeep’s latest limited-production “drop.” Smoky Mountain Invasion is one of the nation’s largest Jeep enthusiast gatherings, attracting nearly 50,000 attendees and 20,000 Jeep vehicles. Held in the shadow of the Great Smoky Mountains, the annual event brings Jeep owners together for scenic drives, custom builds, aftermarket innovation, and plenty of time spent celebrating the lifestyle surrounding the seven-slot grille.
“Few places capture the spirit of the Jeep brand quite like Smoky Mountain Invasion,” said Branden Coté, Jeep brand CEO. “This event brings together thousands of members of the Jeep community who share a passion for adventure, freedom and the outdoors. The Wrangler Smoky Mountain special edition celebrates that connection, honoring the people, the place and the passion that make this gathering so special, while delivering the legendary capability, open-air freedom and personalization that define every Jeep Wrangler.”

Willys Hardware Underneath
Rather than making the Smoky Mountain edition purely an appearance package, Jeep started with the four-door Wrangler Willys platform. That means the special edition gets the kind of hardware enthusiasts can actually put to work once the pavement disappears.
Standard equipment includes Dana 44 front and rear axles, a locking rear differential, a 4.10 axle ratio, steel rock rails, and a trailer hitch. The Wrangler Smoky Mountain rolls standard on 33-inch BFGoodrich KO2 All-Terrain tires, while buyers looking for additional clearance and an even more aggressive stance can step up to available 35-inch KO2s.
Jeep then gives the Willys foundation a visual identity of its own. Exclusive Smoky Mountain hood-side decals take inspiration from the region’s rugged peaks and winding trails, while 17-inch smoky black wheels are intended to recall the mist-covered mountains themselves.
A Gloss Black seven-slot grille adds another darkened detail, while body-color fender flares and a body-color hardtop give the special edition a more integrated appearance. Jeep’s Sky One-Touch powertop remains available for buyers who want open-air driving without having to manually remove the roof.

The Smoky Mountain Theme Moves Inside
Jeep didn’t stop with graphics and wheels. The Wrangler Smoky Mountain gets an exclusive cabin treatment combining durable materials with colors and graphics tied to both the region and Jeep’s history.
Premium Black Ferndale cloth seats feature a rugged embossed texture along with deeper, more aggressive Black Soulmate side bolsters. The upper seat bolsters carry an embossed 1941 Willys parachute graphic, a nod to Jeep heritage as well as the brand’s exclusive “drop” collection.
Terracotta accent stitching and metallic Blaze Orange accents bring some color into the otherwise dark interior, with Jeep saying the combination draws inspiration from sunrise over the Smoky Mountains. An Addax technical pattern covers the wrapped instrument panel, while anodized carbon trim rings receive a smoked-out finish.
Some of the most distinctive touches are considerably smaller. A plaque on the rear swing gate displays the exclusive Wrangler “drop” motif, combining the 1941 Willys parachute graphic with a star-filled Smoky Mountain night sky. The gray metallic and satin chrome shifter medallion carries another regional reference: a mama bear and cub graphic celebrating the wildlife associated with the Great Smoky Mountains.
The special edition also comes standard with heated seats, a heated steering wheel, automatic dual-zone temperature control, and a universal garage door opener.

The 10th Twelve 4 Twelve Drop
More importantly for anyone following Jeep’s Twelve 4 Twelve campaign, the Smoky Mountain represents number 10 in the series. Rather than simply rolling out another Wrangler trim, Jeep has been using the Twelve 4 Twelve program to create special-edition “drops” that give individual Wranglers their own themes, equipment combinations, and enthusiast-focused identities. The Smoky Mountain takes that formula directly to one of the biggest gatherings of Jeep owners in the country.
It also arrives without a massive premium over the Wrangler on which it is based.
Orders for the 2027 Jeep Wrangler Smoky Mountain special edition are open now. It is offered exclusively as a four-door Wrangler and can be ordered with either the 2.0-liter engine and automatic transmission or the 3.6-liter engine and automatic transmission.
Perhaps the most interesting number, however, is the price difference. Jeep says the Smoky Mountain edition costs just $80 more than a popularly equipped Wrangler Willys. That makes the special-edition graphics, interior treatments, commemorative details, and overall exclusivity a surprisingly inexpensive step up for a buyer already considering a similarly equipped Willys.

Built For The Jeep Crowd
The Smoky Mountain edition is ultimately as much about the community surrounding the Wrangler as it is about the vehicle itself. Jeep chose an enthusiast event drawing tens of thousands of people and some 20,000 Jeep vehicles to introduce a special edition named after the landscape surrounding that gathering.
