SEMA 2018: Superchips Flashpaq Leading The Way For Late-Model Jeeps

As mentioned before, the SEMA Show is all about the newest products and the newest builds for companies or individuals to showcase them. With that being said, we’re getting into a more technological time and custom electronics are becoming the norm in the industry. Whether that be muscle cars, imports, or pickup trucks, electronics is in the now. Powerteq, the mother company of Diablo Sport, Superchips, and Edge Products, is pushing hard in 2019.

The Flashpaq and the Dashpaq are heavy hitters this year for the Powerteq team. On the Jeep side of things, the Superchips Flashpaq officially covers all the way up to the JL. The Flashpaq is the first ever handheld tuner from Superchips that has custom tuning already installed on it and we talked to the experts to get the details.

“Superchips has carried the banner for the Jeeps for a long time now, and with the new Flashpaq, it’s going to create even more buzz,” said Jim McGinn, Vice President of Marketing at Powerteq. “These do require a PCM swap, which the 15’s and up have always had that.” So when ordering a Flashpaq for your Jeep, it’s made easy for you to do so.

Whether you’re wanting to actually load pre-loaded custom tuning to your Jeep or just scan for diagnostics, the Flashpaq and Flashcal have you covered.

“When our customers receive the unit, they will go to our website, enter their VIN number and their Flashpaq ID number, and we actually send them an unlocked PCM,” said McGinn. “We don’t force anyone to remove their PCM and send it in because we don’t want you down a vehicle during your wait.” They do require you to send your PCM back in at least 14 days as a core exchange program.

For around the $350 range, that includes your unlocked PCM and the shipping to and from Powerteq. For a competitive price, you’re unlocking your Jeeps full potential with tuning options for towing, economy, performance, and crawling. Within those tuning ranges, you’re potentially looking at improved mileage, improved shifting, and less downshifting on the highways.

We are excited to see these boxes take off in the Jeep market and look forward to hearing from you all and how you like them. For more information about Powerteq and their three sister companies, be sure and check out their website. Stay tuned for more from Off Road Xtreme.
