If you think you knew what Superwinch was all about, you’d be surprised to learn what the company has been up to as of late. Here at the 2015 SEMA Show, we got to see some of the new winches being offered on the market.
Talking to us was Michael Cassidy, who explained the new winches and their features and benefits. “If you’ve got to get your race car onto a trailer, our winches are there to get the job done,” he said. “We have them in a 7500, 5500, and new for this year, 3500. These are an all-enclosed designs and are made specifically for trailer usage.”
With their foot-operated switches, these winches are precise machines that stop and go with each press – no delayed reaction or “coasting.” Superwinch also has a dedicated smartphone app that can be used with its products, so operation can be handled at a distance if the user so chooses. The app is available on both iOS and Android platforms.
On the flipside, Superwinch also makes winches meant for ATVs and UTVs with its Terra lineup. “We use thicker gears in the gearbox, an all-steel drum that’s welded, and strong Dyneema synthetic rope,” explained Cassidy. “They can be operated using a wired remote, a handlebar rocker switch, a dash-mounted rocker switch, or the smartphone app.
Jeep enthusiasts, meanwhile, will get great use out of the company’s Tigershark and Talon lineups. “The Tigershark line is a bit more budget-conscious, and is designed to be ready to go when you need it,” said Cassidy. “It’s got stainless steel hardware, tie bars, and ropes, so nothing will rust out and will stay looking great for a long time. The Talon, on the other hand, is the premium option. It’s fast, has a disc brake, and is built to handle anything you can throw at it.”
When the gas pedal can’t get your vehicle to go where you want it to go, that’s where Superwinch can step in and offer a big helping hand. Find out more via phone or online with the provided contact information below.
