When you go to the SEMA Show, you’re going there not just to do business and build relationships – you’re there to have a little fun, too. Case in point: Vaughn Gittin, Jr., renowned Formula Drift champion, was out in force with his killer 2015 F-150 dubbed the “Ultimate Funhaver.” We caught up with SCT‘s Tim Roi to go over what makes this truck a certifiably badass vehicle, and how SCT’s involvement made it possible.

“At its core, this is a stock EcoBoost-powered F-150, as much as stock can be,” said Roi. “It’s got a full air ride suspension system. Vaughn takes it out on the track, he jumps, he drifts, he basically just has fun with it.”

Equipped with SCT’s LiveWire tuners right on its dashboard, Gittin and his team are able to manipulate and monitor the vehicle’s vitals as it gets driven around. Its four-inch color touchscreen display makes it easy to use, and opens up to a variety of user-selectable graphics and gauge layouts as the situations arise.

Commenting on the EcoBoost V6 and its response to tuning, Roi said, “The engine is a twin-turbo design, so it responds a lot like a diesel engine. As soon as you add a little bit more fuel and spark, it instantly creates a huge amount of power and torque.”
