A recurring theme at this year’s SEMA Show was about expanding product lines or redefining what the company sells. As we walked into the always busy Line-X booth there was a very positive vibe that could be felt. Line-X has been a leader in the spray-in bed liner industry for more than 20 years and within the last two years they have been expending their product offerings. As we sat down with George Lezon, VP of Operations at Line-X, we learned that they are moving into a whole new segment of the truck accessory market. Line-X has launched a new brand called Truck Gear. Truck Gear products are only available through the Line-X dealer network which consists of 460 franchises in North America.
These high-end quality products range from bed covers, to grille guards, bull bars, steps and fender flairs. All of these products carry a limited warranty that can be handled through any franchise, not just the one the product was purchased at. This is huge because it means that no matter where you move, the warranty is still in effect and odds are there will be a fairly close Line-X franchise that can take care of you if needed.
In addition, Truck Gear is getting ready to start offering complete upfit packages like the Duck Commander Package, which includes upgraded interior leather, wheels, decals, and bed liner. These packages will be available at all of their franchises making it easy for anyone to get quacky.
Over the next year, all of the Line-X franchises will be undergoing a major overhaul as they transform into truck accessory retail locations. There will be new displays showing the product line along with many new upgrades. This new look is part of what is being called the Line-X experience.
“Our goal for 2014 is to take our Truck Gear line with all of the innovations we have put together with our new bed liner material, platinum bed liners, our Line-X experience and completely upgrade our franchises,” says Lezon. Stay tuned as more announcements are sure to unfold.
