Mickey Thompson Performance Tires and Wheels‘ President, Chris Barbara, announced a new partnership with Roush Performance as the official tire and wheel package on the 2016 Roush F-150 pickup trucks.

The tradition and the legacy of Roush Performance now has a partner with a legacy of its own. The two products that will be featured on all the F-150’s are Mickey Thompson ATZ P3 tires, wrapped around the M/T Metal 20-inch wheel. One part of this package that links the two companies together is the cobranded wheels, with the signature Mickey Thompson logo and a Roush branded center cap.

The goal of Roush with this project was to work with a off the shelf wheel and tire, they specifically did not want anything that was custom. Mickey Thompson fit the bill with what they had to offer.

“Roush is very focused on product quality and being sure that their partners have exactly what they need. It was fantastic working with them because they know we have world-class products,” Barbara said.

“Roush had formal testing with tires. The tire had just been designed and developed, with the application on F-150 trucks and similar vehicles in mind, but with the tire having a three-ply sidewall and more rugged construction it helped certify the choice. We gave Roush a couple options for the wheel as well before they selected this model. They had a lot of input on the finish of the design that they wanted to choose, all while being 100 percent involved with the creation of the center cap,” Barbara continued.

“The tire selection is perfect for on-road and off-road applications. This truck will not be a rock crawler, but it gives the truck a more aggressive look,” Barbara summed up.

The truck does have fender flares and side steps, which will give it a great stance regardless of where the owners take it. This is a great partnership that will only lead to more possibilities between the two companies.
