Video: Man Builds DeLorean Monster Truck, Doesn’t Stop There

Yep, it’s Back To The Future monster-truck style. Rich Weissensel, a software engineer from Chicago, Illinois, is a DeLorean fan, to say the least. After a chance encounter with the inventor of the now famous (or infamous, depending on your point of view) brushed stainless steel sports coupe at a Cleveland, Ohio car show, Weissansel decided he had to have one.

But like many fans of anything automotive, he just couldn’t stop at one. He now has about half-a-dozen DeLoreans that he has modified in one way or another. His very first adventure into DeLorean dizziness was to build a monster truck from a wrecked DeLorean and a wrecked Chevy K5 Blazer. It took him about a month to finish building the silver behemoth that stands on a custom-made 12-inch suspension lift, with a winch up front, a side-pipe exhuast system, and a set of Interco TSL Bogger Super Swamper tires.

Not stopping there, Weissensel spent the next decade building an entire collection of DeLorean morphs, including a stretched DeLorean limousine, a hovercraft, a convertible, and a time machine replica. Weissenthal also bought and restored three stock DeLoreans. You think the guy is a fan, or what?
