The Jeep Wrangler Rubicon 4×4 vehicle wasn’t named after a wimpy walk through some tourist trap. The Rubicon Trail, as this video above produced by Rebel Off Road will clearly show, is quite likely the most challenging four-wheel-drive trail in the United States, and an adventure not for the weak, or two-wheel-drive vehicle, for that matter.
This rocky, boulder-strewn, but famous and breathtakingly beautiful trail offers views that will amaze, but can also snap axles if you don’t pay attention to your driving or have equipment that is not up to snuff. The Rubicon is also a favorite of Rebel Off Road, and should be on every four-wheeler’s bucket list. But keep in mind that Rubicon means “point of no return.”
Think twice before making the attempt. This trail is a challenge for even the Jeeps of Rebel Off Road, the company that produced the video you are about to view. Its coil-over suspension, 40-inch tire-equipped Jeep JKs are just enough to tackle it.
Managed by Friends of the Rubicon, and annually enjoyed by the Jeep Jamboree USA organization, Rebel Off Road feels the Rubicon Trail is a challenge they must take on each and every year.
As you leave the entrance gate behind, you drop into a forest where you get your first sense of dirt, dust, and pine tree smell. If you survive the stumps, logs and lose rock, you graduate to the coolest granite slab you’ll ever drive on. From there, it’s two nights and days of steep trails, pine forests, cool streams and lakes, camping, fun people and some of the best mountain four-wheeling you may see in your lifetime.
The Jeep Jamboree USA organization helps keep the Rubicon Trail open and active, and Rebel Off Road is proud to be partners and sponsors. It’s organizations like Jeep Jamboree USA that help keep generations enjoying off-road activities. Be sure to watch the entire video to see the most renowned 4×4 trail in the country.
