Toyo Tires Has Introduced A New Line: The Open Country R/T !

RT_tred_clear

Toyo Tires have been the “go to” tires for many of us for a long time. Its M/T is an aggressive mud tire that gets the job done. Unfortunately, when cruising on the highway, it can make some noise. To avoid that, traditionally, you would opt for its All Terrain (A/T) tire. It has great street manners, but lacks some of the hardcore off-road performance that many of us like.

Well good news, there is now an in-between tire to consider. The new Toyo Open Country R/T (Rugged Terrain) is a rugged off-road tire that has good street manners. “The Toyo Open Country R/T is a premium tire that handles exceptionally well off road and it looks aggressive, but is quiet and long-lasting enough for everyday driving,” says Roy Bromfield, Chief Operating Officer, Toyo Tires U.S.A Corp.

What It’s Made Of

OPRT_CutawayThere is a whole lot going on with these tires. You can really see that Toyo Tires took everything they have learned from its M/T and A/T tires to produce a unique tire.

The tire starts with three plies of polyester casing. This gives the tire great resistance to puncturing, but also provides great traction and steering response along with good high speed stability and durability.

The next two layers are high-strength steel belts that offer good endurance.

Then the outer layer is a special cap/base compound to provide a long tire life with low heat built up. The sidewalls have a high modulus sidewall compound to offer exceptional cut resistance.

To make sure the tires perform well at low air pressures, the tires feature a single strand bead along with a high stiffness bead filler to prevent the beads from unseating and loosing what little air pressure it has.

On top of that, the tires are 100 percent made in the U.S.A! And they come with a 45,000-mile treadwear warranty, and qualify for Toyo Tire’s No Regrets Trial Offer (45 days/500 mile trial).
