The Beast 3700: SPAL’s New, Powerful 18-Inch SBL Fan

Keeping your 4×4’s engine cool is essential, but that can be challenging when crawling a trail on a hot day or sitting in traffic during a sweltering commute. One key component in ensuring the engine stays within its optimum temperature range is integrating a powerful, reliable fan into your rig’s cooling system. One option is SPAL’s new, robust, and dependable fan, “The Beast 3700.”

The Beast 3700 Is Brushless And Provides 3,700 CFM Of Airflow

The Beast 3700 is the latest addition to the company’s portfolio of sealed, brushless (SBL) fans. SPAL’s SBL products have earned a reputation for exceptional reliability, flexibility, durability, and performance. With extensive field experience, these fans excel in demanding environments, including engine and oil cooling, electronics and battery cooling, HVAC systems, racing, and more.

SPAL’s new The Beast 3700 is an 18-inch fan with a compact depth of 3.2 inches. Yet, it delivers an impressive airflow of 3,700 cfm. Like all SPAL SBL fans, The Beast 3700 features a motor that meets IP6K9K standards, ensuring it is both waterproof and dustproof and capable of withstanding high-pressure water jets. All SPAL SBL fans integrate power and signal electronics, along with “soft start” technology to prevent electrical inrush spikes. Additionally, these fans offer digital control, ensuring smooth and reliable operation. Temperature sensor options enable variable speed control, while the reduced axial dimensions contribute to a lighter, more efficient design. SPAL SBL motors also incorporate patented “Sine Wave Technologies,” resulting in quieter and smoother motor operation.

Designed To Produce Extreme Cooling Performance

The brushless motor design of SPAL’s SBL fans significantly reduces the number of wear components compared to standard brushed technology, resulting in an exceptionally long lifespan. All motors are engineered to perform in high-temperature environments, surpassing the capabilities of typical DC motors available on the market. As a result, these motors are ideal for a wide range of applications requiring extreme cooling performance, such as when a 4×4 is climbing a long, steep trail in scorching temperatures.

To protect the motor and prevent premature failure, SPAL SBL motors incorporate several features that detect and address potential issues. In the event of severe over-temperature conditions, the motor automatically reduces power output, allowing the fan to operate at lower speeds and preventing permanent damage. Additionally, the motor monitors for over-voltage, under-voltage, and locked rotor conditions, ensuring that catastrophic failures are avoided.

SPAL fans are manufactured at the company's high-tech facility in Correggio, Italy.

Super Airflow, Quality, And Durability

Thom Balistrieri, Director of Aftermarket Sales, SPAL USA, summed up The Beast 3700. He says, “Boasting an impressive 3700 cfm rating, the Beast 3700 will be a game changer when it comes to superior airflow, quality and durability. The entire SPAL sealed, brushless (SBL) fan line has taken the race and hot rod community by storm. With tried and tested results, SPAL continues to be the leader in cooling technology.”
