It’s a phrase we’ve all heard: “In it for the long haul.” It means to be committed to something for a long duration, and when applied literally to diesel trucks, it’s something we as enthusiasts are always looking to improve. So when you’re looking to make the leap to fuel capacity expansion, that’s when you should look to companies like Titan Fuel Tanks.
For about 12 years now, Titan Fuel Tanks has been making a difference in the way trucks can go the extra mile, and then some. “The owner of the company was making fuel trips all over the Western U.S., whether it was boats, trailers, motorcycles, you name it,” said marketing manager Paul DeFord. “He became overly annoyed with having to stop every 200 to 300 miles, and the idea was developed to make larger-capacity fuel tanks without having to reduce the bed space.”
It was to be the first midship, in-chassis fuel tank offered for diesel trucks, and the rest was history. Over the years, Titan Fuel Tanks has innovated time and again, and been duly recognized and rewarded. “We’re proud to have received Best New Product at the SEMA Show, as well as multiple awards in the industry including Product Innovation,” said DeFord.
Titan Fuel Tanks looks at every conceivable place to add additional fueling capacity, including areas like the spare tire holder, forward part of the bed, behind the axle, and mid-ship. Even beyond trucks, Jeep enthusiasts have gotten to enjoy the Trail Trekker designed to fit all generations of Wranglers. But the research and development never rests.
The latest product to come out has been the Travel Trekker, an in-bed auxiliary tank that has universal fitment and is made from military-grade polymer for great durability. It's expected to ship on August 1st of this year.
“We have Ram MegaCab tanks, EcoDiesel tanks, and in about a week, we’ll have a new in-bed auxiliary tank called the Travel Trekker,” said DeFord. “It’s a universal fit for all HD trucks and plumbs right into the normal tank. We’ve done units like this before, but the Travel Trekker is about half the price and still has all the same features as our 60-gallon in-bed tank. We’re very excited to see that one hit the market, and it’s been a mover in pre-sales.

For Jeep enthusiasts, the Trail Trekker has been a popular choice. It adds 12 gallons extra capacity and is grounded and vented, so it can deal with a rollover and still be okay.
We sense that the Travel Trekker and other upcoming products from Titan Fuel Tanks will continue to make a great impact in the market. If you’re starting to think about it, we recommend you check out the company on its website and Facebook page.

Titan Fuel Tanks started as a way for diesel trucks to go the extra mile. Nowadays, there are dozens of options for GM, Ram, and Ford trucks, with units that fit mid-ship, in the bed, and elsewhere.
