Volant Performance announces two new closed box performance air intake system options for 2012-2014 Ford F-150 pickups equipped with the 3.5-liter EcoBoost engine, including the hot new F-150 Tremor.

“Performance-minded F-150 EcoBoost owners crave the deeper sound, cooler engine operating temperatures and more confident towing that Volant Performance air intakes provide,” said Craig R. Kohrs, vice president and general manager, TMG Performance Products. “Drivers can expect engine horsepower increases of approximately five percent, and torque increases of approximately eight percent.”

Volant Performance air intake systems feature a unique closed box design that protects the intake from high engine compartment temperatures characteristic of turbocharged engines. A cooler, denser air charge decreases turbo lag, delivers better fuel economy and enhances towing capacity.

Two cool air intake options are available for the F-150 EcoBoost: Volant’s PowerCore(r) Closed Box Air Intake System (part #194356) or Pro 5 Closed Box Air Intake System (part #19435). The PowerCore Closed Box Air Intake System is designed with Donaldson(r) PowerCore filtration technology featuring advanced Ultra-Web(r) nanofiber filter media which captures submicron contaminants on the surface of the media, promoting lower air flow restriction and longer filter life. The system is maintenance free, requires no cleaning or oiling and is warrantied for up to 150,000 miles or four years under normal operating conditions.

Volant’s Pro 5 Closed Box Air Intake System is engineered with Volant’s high-performance, five-layer air filter made of high-quality textile media pleated between a top and bottom aluminum screen. Pro 5 filters come pre-oiled and ready for use. Cleanable and reusable for as long as you own the vehicle, the filters should be cleaned every 10,000 miles, or as needed, using Volant’s two-stage cleaning kit to thoroughly clean and re-oil the filter.
