Sam Pack, CEO of Sam Pack Five Star Ford, placed the winning $157,000 bid for the final production 2017 F-150 Raptor, which he can order in any color.

Last week we let you know Ford would auction off a special Raptor at the Barrett-Jackson auction in Scottsdale, Arizona. The truck auctioned off will be the final VIN produced in the 2017 model year and the new owner can select the paint color of his choosing—even those beyond the Raptor palette.

That auction concluded last Friday night with the likes of Mark Fields, Ford Motor Company president and CEO, and several members of the Raptor team on stage to help inspired the bidders. In the end, Sam Pack, CEO of Sam Pack Five Star Ford of Carrollton, Texas, placed the winning bid of $157,000.

This auction was designed to support the diabetes charity, JDRF with all its proceeds. In addition to the auction price, an anonymous donor added another $50,000 to bump the total donation up to $207,000.

“Providing support to JDRF in its fight against diabetes is extremely important to my family and everyone at Ford Motor Company,” said Henry Ford III, global marketing manager, Ford Performance. “The auction of this one-of-a-kind Raptor is a true testament to Ford’s commitment to JDRF and a great way to raise awareness for this extremely worthy cause. We’re thrilled that the winning bidder chose to support such a wonderful organization.”

All of the benefits of the auction are donate to JDRF, a charity dedicated to treating and, eventually, curing Type 1 diabetes. So far Ford auctions like this have raised over $8 million for the charity, and the Raptor auction got a little boost when an anonymous donor tacked on a $50,000 donation on top of the bid.
