Our friends at Hellwig Products tell us that selecting a larger sway bar may work sometimes but other times the enthusiast is compromising their vehicle’s performance. 

We were even told that the best sway bar may be a smaller sway bar if other modifications have been made. Things like increased spring rate, lowered ride height, or any modifications that change the roll center may require the use of a smaller diameter sway bar.

Hellwig Products’ explanation is simple and makes sense to us: “The vehicle is a combination of its parts and it doesn’t care how massive and cool the bar may look, it only cares how the sway bar interacts with the rest of its components.”
