Brenthel Industries has set its eye on the 2014 Dakar Rally. The 35th Dakar rally race is set to run through South America for the sixth time and will traverse Chile, Bolivia and Argentina. Each leg of the race will prove to be some of the most challenging terrain anyone has ever raced across.
Jonathan Brenthel burst through the 2013 Dakar Challenge by competing in the SCORE Baja 500 and HDRA Reno 500 races; trying to gain the most combined points to win a spot in the world famous Dakar Rally. Points wise, he came in at second place behind a Class 10 buggy piloted by Peter Hajas. The two quickly decided they were stronger together. Brenthel had already begun building a Dakar race vehicle, and with Hajas behind the wheel, a new team was constructed.
“I have always been impressed with Brenthel’s application of advanced technology,” said Peter Hajas
Brenthel Industries has built quite an impressive reputation for impeccable quality components. It is no doubt that its Dakar race car will be a shining example of that. We will get to see just how the team and vehicle hold up against over 700 other racers from 53 countries when the race kicks off on January 5, 2014.
