The Baja 1000 is by far one of the toughest off road races in the world. For decades, men and women have been pitting themselves and their vehicles up against the harsh wilderness of Baja California, Mexico. SCORE International and Specialty Equipment Market Association (SEMA) have teamed up to create the SCORE Baja 1000 Experience for the 2014 SEMA Show.
Dozens of race-ready Trophy trucks and Class 1 buggies will be on display throughout a 70,000-square-foot exhibit outside the Las Vegas Convention Center. Loads of leading off-road and desert racing companies will have their products and services on display. SCORE Dirt Live HD will be broadcast on a huge screen dubbed SCOREvision. During the week-long SEMA Show event, many racing legends and drivers will be on hand for autograph sessions and a Baja pit crew competition will be held to showcase the amazing abilities of the profession pit crews that keep the racers on the track.
“We are excited and honored to have such an iconic group within the off-road industry join us at the SEMA Show,” said Chris Kersting, SEMA president and CEO. “The Baja 1000 represents the top tier in the industry. Its racers and partners will bring to the SEMA Show an unsurpassed level of talent that we are looking forward to seeing.”
As a special event, the Trophy Truck racers will be qualifying for the 2014 Teate SCORE Baja 1000 on Tuesday night at a specially designed 3.6-mile course around the Las Vegas Motor Speedway. The course will be made up of dirt and asphalt and will require the racers to kick on their auxiliary lighting to tear through the dark Las Vegas night.
The annual SEMA show is an industry only event designed to expand business to business relationships. Keep tuned in for full show coverage by the Off Road Xtreme crew. All images provided by SCORE International.
