For years, Mike’s Sky Rancho has been a popular Baja California destination for off-roaders of all sorts. Located about 50 miles southeast of Ensenada on a hillside overlooking the Arroyo San Rafael, the mini-resort has been a place to stay for many, especially during desert races. Mike’s Sky Rancho and Speed Energy Stadium Super Trucks (SST) are kicking off an inaugural event, Mike’s Peak Hill Climb Challenge on October 13-16, 2016.

The event is intended to be the first of many annual events where off-road racers and enthusiasts can bring their off-road vehicle of choice to tackle a specially designed hill climb course. Together, SST and the Sky Ranch have worked together to build multiple classes and space for 144 competitors to battle for the fastest time through the course. The four-day event is open to multiple vehicles; SST/short course trucks, buggies, motorcycles, quads, UTVs and rock crawlers are just a few of the different classes.
The Mike’s Peak event course spans a twenty mile stretch from Highway 3 straight up to Mike’s Sky Ranch. Four different spectator areas have been designated for safety of the viewers as well as the drivers as the climb the hill. Thursday, October 13 will kick off the event with Tech Inspection and Driver/Vehicle Registration. Friday is set up as a practice day, to allow teams to get some familiarity with the terrain. Both Saturday and Sunday are designated race days. Each entry gets a single practice run and 2 race runs up the hill.
Expect high horsepower dirt flying action! For more information on the upcoming event, check out the Stadium Super Trucks website.
