C&R Racing: Extruded Core Radiator Modules For An OE-Style Fit

crracing01A couple of months ago, we shared an exciting new design on radiator technology from C&R Racing. This new design is an extruded core that is not only reinforced to prohibit swelling, but this core also has a 100 psi burst rating. Radiator technology has come a long way since the first copper radiator a century ago, and now C&R Racing takes its experience from the track to the street with custom or direct-fit applications.

Available as a one-part number application, C&R’s radiator modules include everything needed to help your cooling system perform at its best. Starting with the extruded core, you can see that rather than one wide-open tube the extruded tube design has several reinforcements to add strength and achieve that high burst rating. These reinforcements span the length of the tube to keep its shape under extreme pressures.

Nothing but quality for C&R Racing, including these Spal cooling fans.

Next, the hemmed forward edge of each fin adds strength to the fin design. This unique design keeps the fins from folding over and blocking air flow. Follow that up with high quality Spal cooling fans, and you’ve got a complete package that is designed to fit your specific application – including the aluminum radiator cap.

Another aspect to C&R’s radiators is that each core is designed per specific application, so you’re not getting a larger core that was cut down, or one that is smaller to begin with. With each tank and bracket designed to fit specific applications, you can be sure that there will be no modification necessary to get your radiator to bolt into the OE mounting locations. And each radiator is reinforced at all four corners, then fixture welded for added strength and torsional rigidity.

The extruded core cutaway (center) shows the reinforcements that help it achieve 100 psi burst pressure.

If you have a factory or custom application for a new radiator, visit the C&R Racing website. Whether it’s for a street or strip application, you can be sure that you won’t have to piece together a kit, because one part number is all you need.
