2024 Myrtle Beach Jeep Jam Coming Soon: Obstacle Course, Show-N-Grime, And More

Got a Jeep? Looking for a Jeep-specific East Coast event? Well, heads up, because the 7th Annual Myrtle Beach Jeep Jam is right around the corner. It takes place October 25 through October 27, 2024. The event features an obstacle course, mud pit, Show-N-Grime Jeep show, over 120 vendors, and more.

The Myrtle Beach Jeep Jam offers an optional obstacle course. For $10, participants can run the course (and mud pit) as many times as they wish.

Myrtle Beach Jeep Jam Draws Over 25,000 Attendees

Each year over 25,000 attendees converge on the three-day Myrtle Beach Jeep Jam. Registration for the event is $75 and includes parking, a swag bag, and an event T-shirt. For an additional $10, participants can access the event’s obstacle course and mud pit and run them as many times as they wish.

We’re told that about half of registrants choose the obstacle course/mud pit option. The organizers custom-make the obstacle course each year. While some breeze through it, the design allows stock vehicles to bypass more challenging sections if desired. The mud pit is a crowd favorite and there’s even a wash area to clean up your rig after your run. Event organizers expect the optional obstacle course/mud pit to sell out, but as of the time this story was written, they still had some tickets available.

The Sunrise Beach Crawl is an optional feature of the Myrtle Beach Jeep Jam. It offers participants the opportunity to drive on Myrtle Beach, which is normally not allowed. The Sunrise Beach Crawl is sold out for Friday through Sunday, so event organizers added a Thursday Crawl to the schedule.

Sunrise Beach Crawl

The Sunrise Beach Crawl is another popular add-on to the Myrtle Beach Jeep Jam. It is the only time that vehicles other than law enforcement or service personnel are allowed to drive on the beach in Myrtle Beach. It’s a lead-follow event that moves at a relaxed pace. Last year’s route was 1.7 miles, but beach erosion from a recent storm may change the length this year. The Sunrise Beach Crawl costs $50 and includes a custom T-shirt. The Crawl is limited to 300 people per day, with a total of 1,200 spots available over the four days from Thursday to Sunday. For 2024, all slots for the Friday through Sunday Beach Crawl are sold out. However, event organizers added a Thursday Sunrise Beach Crawl, and at the time this story was written, about 100 open slots remained.

Vendor Village offers over 120 vendors.

Food Trucks, Vendor Village, And More

In addition to Jeep registrations, the event offers $10 spectator walk-in access, with children under 12 admitted for free. Spectators must park off-site, and event organizers note that parking fees are not under their control. Participants and spectators alike will have access to Vendor Village, which features over 120 vendors, including food trucks. The event’s presenting sponsor is Myrtle Beach Chrysler Jeep. Other partners include Carolina Custom, AccuAir Suspension, Distinction Applied, EZ 4×4, FBK Off-Road, General Tire, Fishbone Off-Road, and Cooper Tire.

Note that organizers cap Jeep registrations at 2,500 vehicles. According to event organizers, Jeep registration spots are filling up quickly. Given the event’s popularity, they expect to sell out. As of the time this story was written, various registration packages are still available. These include options for the obstacle course, Jeep parking, and the exclusive beach crawl on Thursday morning.

The Mud Pit is a fan favorite of the Myrtle Beach Jeep Jam. Event organizers even offer a wash station so participants can rinse the goo from their rigs following their run.

History Of The Myrtle Beach Jeep Jam

The Myrtle Beach Jeep Jam started in 2018. It has always taken place at the same location, though organizers originally scheduled it as a spring season event. In 2020, the organizers shifted the event to fall, and it has stayed that way ever since. Part of the reason is that participants like the Halloween vibe that has permeated the event. Many Jeeps come decorated for Halloween, and organizers have added Halloween-themed activities over the years.

Steve Taylor, owner of Native Sons Apparel Printing and NS Promotions and Events, founded the event. Native Sons, established in 1984 as a small T-shirt decoration business by a group of college friends, has grown into a part of the Myrtle Beach community. Beyond offering screen printing and embroidery services to businesses across the Carolinas and beyond, Native Sons has been a key player in organizing local events, including the Myrtle Beach Jeep Jam.

More Info

It’s worth noting that the Myrtle Beach Jeep Jam takes place at the former Myrtle Square Mall site, which is just a short walk from the beach. It’s also centrally located in the Grand Strand. This allows participants access to a variety of local attractions and activities in addition to the event itself.
