Last year, the SEMA Show expanded into the Las Vegas Convention Center’s newly constructed West Hall. It is huge and filled with many truck and off-road accessory booths. Part of that footprint for the 2022 SEMA Show includes Overland and camping equipment. Being a certified gear nut means that I had to make my way over to the Dometic Outdoors booth.

Dometic is mainly known for its portable fridge/freezer products, but they have made a large push to innovate. One of the first things standing out, and up, was a large cube-shaped shelter. At a glance, I could tell this was something unique, so I explored further. We inquired with Matt Glass, a representative of Dometic Outdoors who shared all about the new Dometic Hub.

The HUB creates a nice usable shelter of over 56 square feet. The single-point-inflation AIR Frame technology uses high volume and low air pressure. No poles for this structure and the whole thing packs down into this duffle bag weighing less than 30.5 pounds. – Matt Glass

The cube starts with the base shelter and allows the addition of annexes, mesh panels, wall panels, and connection tunnels to fit estate cars, SUVs, and campervans. Single Point Inflation AIR Frame technology and Quick Pitch straps ensure you are pitched and ready to enjoy the outdoors in no time. But you will have to wait till spring of 2023 before it hits distribution.

Naturally, the Dometic Outdoors booth had loads of gear to check out. Matt took us over to see a prototype Roof Top Tent that uses the same inflatable technology. The unit was scribed with TRT 140 AIR and uses inflated tubes across the lower and upper beams to create a sleeping tent for two adults. Glass continued saying another unique aspect is that it collapses down as a trifold for smaller more compact stowing.

SEMA 2022: Dometic Outdoors Deluxe Vehicle-Based Camping Gear

If you follow along with Off Road Xtreme on the regular, you might have seen us cover some of Dometic’s Go line products. We say deluxe because all this stuff is really top-notch quality, but in reality, it is the level of convenience that each of these products allows for. Here are some of our favorites from Dometic at the show.

The Hydration Jug and Faucet system was launched last year at SEMA 2021, but since then it has become one of their most popular products. The affordable 11-liter water jug combined with the rechargeable faucet reimagines outdoor water use and conservation.

I was also eyeballing the Dometic GO 50-liter hard storage containers and then was really digging them when he revealed the compatible 10-liter and 20-liter soft storage bags partitioned inside.
