We’re out here cruising around the halls of the 2018 SEMA Show and of course, Mickey Thompson Performance Wheel & Tire’s booth is impressive. They always go all out on the coolest looking setup and this year is no exception with their unveiling of the new tire, the Baja Boss.

This tire’s asymmetrical design includes an inside and outside tread and has proven to be 150-percent stronger than the old three-ply tire.
The Baja Boss is the biggest and baddest tire they make as of now per Don Sneddon, Advertising Manager for Mickey Thompson Performance Tires & Wheels. “This tire is the first for us that is available for a 17-inch all the way up to a 24-inch wheel,” Sneddon explains. “The market for the bigger wheels is growing rapidly and we wanted to get into the big wheel game as well as create a tire that can do it all.”
One thing that often is asked about the larger tires is the road noise.
“The road noise from this tire does exist but it is very limited,” says Sneddon. “These 10-ply tires are a mud terrain tire but they are designed to be a do-all type tire; you can tow, drive into town, and go off-road with these tires.”
These specific tires on their F-250 build are 38-inch by 15.50-inch Baja Boss tires with a 24-inch wheel.
We are ecstatic about their release of these tires and cannot wait to test them out in every application possible. If you’re looking for a tire that will do it all and still keep the road noise to a minimum, be sure and check out Mickey Thompson’s website.
