If you asked us a month ago, “What’s the largest vehicle you can stick in the back of 3/4-ton truck?” We would have told you: a UTV. That all changed this week when we came to SEMA 2018 and visited the Fab Fours booth.

Fab Fours was displaying its monster of a pickup, dubbed the “Crawler Hauler.” It’s a late-model Ram 2500 with several custom touches, put together by Southern Off-Road Specialists in Alpharetta, Georgia.

The truck maintains its four-door configuration, allowing for up to five occupants, and has all of the grunt and torque that the 6.7-liter Cummins engine can offer. That’s good, because riding out back is an intricate ramp, and yes, a full-blown rock bouncer, strapped down and ready to roll at a moment’s notice.

Underneath the rack, the truck can store up to four enormous 42-inch tires. There’s also room for spare fuel cans, a floor jack, and a hide-away ramp system to help deploy the rock bouncer. There’s even a full stereo system toward the rear, with speakers installed underneath the ramp system.

Throughout the undercarriage, strategically placed rock lights help illuminate things. This could prove useful when the Crawler Hauler finds itself rock crawling at night and having to negotiate crazy obstacles.

You might think that with all of the work done to the truck, it rides high and has a sketchy center of gravity. In fact, it only reaches 12.5-feet in total height with the rock bouncer secured.
