The Jeep Wrangler JK is undoubtedly one of the most popular off-road vehicles in history. The larger wheel wells allow for massive tires, the wide width helps keep it stable, and the long wheelbase helps it flex over big obstacles.
Everyone wants to lift their JK Wrangler, but what shock or coil over manufacturer should you work with? The Radflo Suspension Technology booth at SEMA held a full complement of the company’s offerings to go with the display vehicle, showcasing their latest technology.
“On our JK we have some dual valve bypass shocks with the piggyback remote reservoir,” Ann King explained. “The real ‘wow’ factor about Radflo is the craftsmanship. We take great take great pride in the product line and the construction. Everything is made by real people in the USA. Everything is also built to order, nothing comes off the shelf. When the order comes in we customize with you on the specifications.”
Not only do they offer these bypass/remote shock assemblies, they also offer hydraulic bump stops, which were on display. These units are designed to work as an auxiliary damper in vehicles that are traversing rough terrain at high speeds, or while heavily laden. At the regular shock reaches its max compression point, the hydraulic bump stops take over to help increase the damping resistance and help to control the suspension. They are operational during the last few inches of suspension travel to help cushion heavy impacts to the suspension.
