Firestone Tires had a monster truck that lured show-goers in to check out the release of their new tire. One of the most popular off-road tires on the market has been the Destination MT, and its been going strong for 15 years old.
“We put a ton of development into this tire,” Keith Willcome said introducing the new tire. “Starting with the tread pattern, we used a lot of our know-how from our agriculture tires to clean out well to provide the maximum traction in off-road situations.”
Another great feature of this design is the stone ejectors. These will eject the stone to prevent rocks from getting stuck in your tires. It also helps break the suction of mud, preventing it from clinging to the tires. The tire is also pinned for studs allowing consumers to stud the tires in a snowy area.
“During off-road situations, your bead protector tends to allow debris inside between the wheel and tire and cause air leaks,” Willcome said. “To prevent leaks around the bead protector, we took our design from our agriculture tires, and fitted the bead protector as tight as possible to prevent muck and debris from causing leakage.”
This tire is perfect for the everyday driver that needs to drive on the street as well as get off the road in rugged terrain. What are your thoughts on the all-new Destination MT2? Let us know in the comments below.
