You’ve heard it before – if you buy an intake, you’ve got to buy a tuner, or vice versa. Getting the ECU remapped after opening up the intake is highly advisable, just as much as using a tuner eventually requires giving the engine more air to breathe, the higher you try to go in output.
Fortunately, Edge Products has done the proverbial two-birds-one-stone maneuver with its hottest new item, the Stage 1 kit. Jared Venz gave us the skinny on this kit and what it does to help out the diesel folks who are just getting started with truck modifications.

“Our Stage 1 kit pairs our new Jammer intake system with an Evolution programmer,” said Venz. “We wanted to give our fans of the programming side of the business a chance at a well-paired kit that is all-in-one and easy to work with.”
The Jammer cold air intake has been a recent innovation from Edge Products, but has since blossomed. “We have offered the Jammer for all of the major OEMs, with fitments as far back as the 12-valve 5.9-liter Cummins, and as current as all three of the latest Power Stroke, Cummins, and Duramax applications,” said Venz.
Customers can order the Stage 1 kit with either the economical CS (left) or premium CTS (right) programmer.
Meanwhile, the Evolution programmers, which include the CS and CTS, are some of the most successful in the market, and for good reason. “Both tuners come pre-loaded with tunes in there already,” said Venz. “So you can install the Jammer intake, plug in the CS or CTS, and go out and do your thing.”
A powerful combination – that’s what the Stage 1 kit offers, and that’s what Edge Products is delivering now. Check out more from the company’s website.
