SEMA 2015: Bestop Talks New Sunrider, Seat Covers, F-150 Powerboard

Though most commonly associated with its vast line of Jeep soft tops, Bestop has branched out in recent years to other platforms in the off-road market and found great success in doing so. Here at the 2015 SEMA Show, such growth has continued for the betterment of off-roaders of all types.

We stopped by the booth earlier this week and talked with Bill Haberkamp about what’s hot and fresh for Bestop. Products include the new Sunrider for hardtops, a new line of seat covers for Jeeps, and Powerboard running boards for the latest-generation F-150.

“We know there are Jeepers out there who like to retain their hardtop,” says Haberkamp. “But the Freedom panels that go over the front are a pain to remove and stow away. We removed them and put soft panels in their place that seal to the hardtop. Once you have it installed, you can just flip the two latches and throw it back to get the open-air sensation.”

Seat covers were made for the JK platform and are available in three colors: gray, black, and tan.

“One of the big features is that these seat covers are compatible with the side airbags,” Haberkamp says. “They come as a two-piece set, are waterproof, UV-resistant, and machine-washable, and are made of 600 denier polyester for great abrasion resistance.”

Seat covers for JKs come in a variety of colors, including gray (left) and tan (right), as well as black (not pictured).

Last but not least, Bestop made a big show of its awesome Powerboard running boards, which are now out for the latest-generation F-150 and the Unlimited Wrangler JKs.

“Compared to past running board designs we’ve had for the JK, these boards are a total revamp,” explains Haberkamp. “It’s got a new, beefy profile that presents a larger step when deployed. It also has the motor on one side and a torsion bar on the other, which means both sides of the Powerboard are assisted in deployment and retraction for smoother operation.”

This host of great innovations from Bestop make a big impact in terms of convenience and comfort for the off-road crowd. To see more, click or call Bestop with the provided contact information below.
