Sway-A-Way is one of the oldest off-road suspension component manufacturers in the business, and since 1967 has been producing shocks, torsion bars, coil springs, bump stops, and anti-sway bars for vehicles of all shapes and sizes for racing and recreational activities. At the 2014 SEMA Show held in Las Vegas, Sway-A-Way introduced a number of new products, including its new 5.0-inch Bypass shock for racing, 2.5-inch reservoir shocks, and Sway Bars for Jeeps.
We talked to Eric Tice at Sway-A-Way about these new products. “The new Sway-A-Way 5.0-inch Bypass Shock is the next step up from our existing 4.0-inch and designed for off-road racing and hard pre-running applications. These bypass shocks come with four external compression and two rebound adjustment tubes, are rebuildable and can be re-valved. It’s offered in remote or piggyback reservoir designs, available in right and left hand tube layouts, and comes in a number of different travel lengths. Bright zinc-plated cylinders and high strength hard-chrome plated steel shafts, with high strength Com 12 Teflon-lined steel spherical bearings on each end with 304 stainless spacers are standard. All the CNC aluminum parts are red anodized.”
“Along with many OE pickup and SUV fitment shocks we offer, Sway-A-Way now also offers 2.5-inch Piggyback reservoir shocks for the 2007 and up Jeep JK. These are built with the same engineering expertise and manufacturing tolerances as our full-blown racing shocks, and there are three applications at this point. We have stock suspension applications, as well as 2.5-inch Piggybacks that will fit the JK with a three to five-inch suspension lift, and 2.5-inch Piggybacks designed to fit a JK with a six-inch-plus suspension lift.”
