There are numerous companies displaying new products for all types of cars and trucks at the SEMA Show. Some offer one or two things, while others can provide a wide variety of parts and accessories to the automotive enthusiast. Pro Comp is one of those that offers dozens of accessories and aftermarket equipment, and targets the off-road community.
Pro Comp brought the whole kit and caboodle to the 2014 SEMA Show held in Las Vegas, including tires, wheels, suspension components and systems, and body armor for your pickup or SUV. We spotted a new suspension system mounted up to a showy Toyota Tundra the minute we walked into the ProComp booth this year, and asked Adam Trowbridge of Pro Comp to give us the low down. “Fist of all, let me tell you that our new long travel kit is designed for the 2007 to 2015 Toyota Tundra.”
“You get 2.75-inch adjustable coil-over Internal Bypass System (IBS) shocks, completely new steel upper and cast-iron lower A-arms, and new CV shaft assemblies in this new system. It provides 14 inches of front wheel travel, and in addition to that, makes the front track five-inches wider for improved stability.”
“The beauty of the front system is that it has Clevite bushings and greased fittings, retains the factory sway bar, and bolts right up to factory positions with no cutting. An optional bumpstop system is an upgrade. The rear end gets 12 inches of travel mainly through the use of a shackle re-configuration.”
“A suspension system of this complexity is a first for us, but we spent a lot of time designing and testing it out,” remarked Trowbridge. To see all the new tires, wheels, accessories, and suspension systems from Pro Comp, go to the company’s website or call (800) 776-0767.
