Bushwacker‘s booth had some fine products on display this year. The company’s go-to location at the forefront of the South Hall’s upper floor makes way for the intrigued and weary alike, thanks to plush, off-white carpeting that puts any showgoer in a good mood.
And it can’t hurt that Bushwacker also packs along some fantastic attractions; this year, the focus was placed on the all-new 2015 F-150 and less-new-but-still-beloved 2014 4Runner, both of which were showing off gear that off-road enthusiasts would get a kick out of.
With regard to the Ford, the fender flares were of special interest, as we learned from talking with public relations manager Andy Lilienthal. “One of the new things that we’re doing at Bushwacker is we’re having a color-matching fender flare program. So, in other words, if you buy a 2015 F-150 in white, you can buy fender flares from us that are already painted white, with the edge trim and bolts pre-installed.”
This would mean a great deal of time and money savings for F-150 buyers, who could just have their products shipped in from Bushwacker, ready to go right out of the box. The colors are, of course, the 11 OEM colors that Ford uses to paint the F-150, from Magnetic Gray to Race Red.
The 4Runner, on the other hand, was being promoted as a test bed to showcase concept fender flares and molding for the application. “It’s really here to gauge interest from SEMA visitors,” said Lilienthal. Two-piece fender flares were attached to the rear of the car, with one-piece units attached to the front, while side and lower door moldings gave the 4Runner some definitive edges to the body.
