Vintage Air blew us away with their new SureFit A/C kits when we visited their booth at the 2013 SEMA Show. Available for several makes and models, these systems provide a direct replacement to the stock units found in everything from classic hot rods and musclecars, to even some oddities like Studebakers and Toyotas.

Newest to the lineup are a couple of premier systems: one is for 1966-77 Broncos, and the other is for 1959-60 full-size Chevys (Impala/El Camino/Biscayne). Utilizing the latest and greatest in Vintage Air’s R&D technology, the Gen IV climate control system, these kits will provide you terrific temperature control and flexibility for years to come.

What makes Gen IV the optimum choice? For one, it’s using the company’s exclusive, fully electronic microprocessor control servomotor drives, which get rid of messy cables and vacuum connections.

For two, separate high-capacity copper parallel-flow heat coils, as well as aluminum plate and fin cooling coils, offer you that quick temperature moderation you want when the sun’s too strong or the wind’s too cold. Great for when you have persnickety passengers.

The Bronco kit includes three individual rotary controls and factory-style knobs that fit directly onto the stock locations. This saves you trouble and makes the swap a cinch, while looking clean when all is said and done.

The Chevy kit, installed.

As for the Chevy kit, Vintage Air gives the same benefits as the Bronco kit, yet also supplies its exclusive electronic cable converters to the factory 4-lever Deluxe controls, allowing you electronic operation. 2-lever kits include a three-knob, under-dash control pod for the same purpose.

For all-around comfort, you can’t go wrong with the SureFit system. Variable blower speed, dash/floor/defrost blend, quick adjustment, and reliable usage make these products a great addition to your Blue Oval or Bowtie ride.
