Walking into the Race Car Dynamics (RCD) Suspension booth in the Central Hall of the Las Vegas Convention Center presents you with an eyeful of GMC pickup. Here was a big red ’13 2500 HD, and beyond just looking great, the truck served to showcase some cool new items, including a 6-inch lift kit for Ford and GM 4×4 trucks, that RCD is making available in the coming year.
We learned from Tamara Fisher, Director of Operations for RCD, that the lift kit was the result of rigorous craftsmanship and testing, and that its quality was second to none: “We are a U.S. company with U.S. parts made from U.S. materials,” shared Fisher. The features and craftsmanship of the kit definitely support this point.
You get CNC-machined replacement cast iron steering knuckles for precise steering geometry, with other well-crafted components and pieces ensuring you get a smooth, comfortable ride while increasing wheel travel over 20% without inflicting bump steer. You stay on track longer and more securely, making even those long hauls a pleasure.
These kits, available for the 2009-14 4WD F-150s and 2011-14 GM 2WD/4WD half-tons, can come with either no shocks, Bilstein shocks, or even (when available) Fox Shox to provide the kind of trustworthy suspension you know and love. The company’s heritage of competition off-road vehicle design means you can trust the time, effort, and materials used in making their parts.
Aside from the kit, the red pickup was also showcasing a new line of accessories available. These include a front steel bumper with unique texturized powder coating called “Black Gator,” rock sliders, stylish rear bumpers, and more.
