We often forget about our power-steering assembly until it fails or starts giving us problems. The older Saginaw Type I (P Pump) power-steering pumps found on LQ or LM truck engines used considerable power and created unnecessary heat when pushed to the limit. Turn One has a new LS Truck Conversion Kit that replaces that dated Type I pump with a newer and more capable Type II pump.
Truck-based LS engines have found their way into almost every conceivable application. Turn One’s upgrade kit is designed to work with LS blocks using truck accessories and comes with the necessary conversion bracket and mounting hardware. A 6 3/8-inch black anodized performance pulley is pre-installed with the required spacing for the upgrade.
Three Performance Levels
Turn One offers three levels of pumps with its LS Truck Conversion Kit. All kits include GM Type II pumps, and all kit components are brand new. The Street Series Pump upgrade features a 1,200 psi pressure capacity and has a 2.5 gallon per minute (GPM) flow rate.
The HP1 series upgrade reduces horsepower consumption while increasing pressure to 1,500 psi and the flow rate to 3.0 GPM. The HP1 also features an integral baffled reservoir for improved fluid control. The HP1 kit is perfect for engine-swapped performance vehicles using a truck block or vehicles running truck accessories that need a more capable power steering pump to handle hard driving.
For those running advanced front suspension setups, wide or slick tires, and using their vehicles for heavy autocross, road course, or drift use, the HP2 series offers even more performance. The basic HP2 pump provides 1,800 psi, but custom pressure capacities are available for unique vehicle applications. Custom flow rates are available upon request. The HP2 pumps also allow for an optional driveshaft upgrade for supercharged applications.
