There are a number of companies that build replacement axles and axle parts for off-road vehicles, but none are quite the stature and legacy of Currie Enterprises. The company, and the family that founded it and still run it, have maintained a rock-solid reputation for quality engineering, craftsmanship and bulletproof sturdiness in axle components it creates.

Late in 2013, we brought Off Road Xtreme readers a deep dive into the development, engineering and design of the Currie Enterprises’ new RockJock 44 housing and RockJock 44 full axle assembly through a full-length tech article illustrated with detailed photographs.

Currie Enterprises recently produced a video offering a look at a Currie Enterprises RockJock 44 housing being swapped in to replace an OE Dana 44 front housing underneath a Jeep Wrangler Rubicon.

The approximately 15-minute long video takes you through the entire step-by-step process from unbolting the tires and carefully removing the brakes and ABS equipment to removing the axle shafts and using a little touch of force (with a small mallet) to loosen the tie-rod ends.

It goes on to show how an experienced mechanic with the proper tools can move through the process to separating the OE pumpkin from the entire axle assembly, and then replace it with the vastly superior Currie Enterprises RockJock 44 center housing, and go on to rebuild and reassemble the front housing, axle and steering assembly.

The video is also filled with plenty of information about the features and benefits of the Currie Enterprises RockJock 44 product, how it was designed, and why it is truly a better choice for the hardcore off-road enthusiast than sticking with the OE Dana 44 center housing.
