ICON Vehicle Dynamics had a heck of a display at the 2013 SEMA Show, showcasing its best designs of the year for multiple makes and models, including JKs, FJ Cruisers, Raptors and more. Brad Myers, the sales and marketing manager, took time to share some cool specs and info about its latest and greatest.
There were the CDC valves, which made for a great pairing with the company’s assortment of coilovers by allowing users to choose from 10 levels of compression damping force. Myers cautioned that adding these to non-CDC applications would require recalibration, but the results would offer true ride-quality diversity. They come available as either a piggyback or remote configuration upgrade on several of the company’s products.
In addition, Myers told us all about the unique 1.75- to 4-inch Adjustable Stage 2 Coilover Conversion System for JKs (p/n K25012), that is claimed to mark an industry first for being bolt-on and highly tunable. Included in this kit were fabricated front coilover upper and lower mounts, rear upper subframe and lower axle mounts, 2.0 V.S. Series remote reservoir coilovers with CDC valves, adjustable track bars and link arms for the front and rear, as well as all the required hardware. Getting more lift without sacrificing ride quality and stability made this system a big plus in our book.
Another big plus is the amount of time that ICON invests in its parts, giving each and every new idea a thorough examination before releasing it to the public. “We spend a lot of time with the vehicle in development,” said Myers, as he explained how seriously his company handles its R&D. What we saw at SEMA definitely demonstrated the quality and style ICON can produce, and we can’t wait to see what they come up with next.
