If you live for dusty trails, mountain views, and ripping through the woods on your side-by-side, you’re going to want to hear this. Polaris is continuing to invest in the very trails and forest roads we ride. Teaming up with the National Forest Foundation (NFF), they just announced the 2025 recipients of their Polaris Fund for Outdoor Recreation Grants.
For 2025, Polaris is dropping over $113,000 into five epic projects across the U.S. that directly impact off-roaders, snowmobilers, and outdoor enthusiasts.
What’s the Polaris Fund All About?
Back in 2021, Polaris committed $5 million over five years to help maintain and improve our public lands. That money goes into things like trail building, restoration, signage, and educating riders on responsible practices. The fund’s been making a difference since 2022, and this year’s grants are continuing that momentum.
Where’s the Polaris Fund Money Going in 2025?
Here’s a quick tour of the five projects getting funded in 2025:
Arizona – Navigate Responsibly Project (Coconino National Forest)
Ever found yourself wondering if you’re actually on a legal trail or riding blind in the backcountry? This project is fixing that. Expect better signage along highways and rec corridors to help guide riders to approved routes and away from areas that could get you fined (or worse).
California – Snowmobile Park Upgrades (Lassen National Forest)
This one’s for the sledheads. Polaris is helping fund new trail markers, updated trailhead signs, and fresh winter maps. Whether you’re carving through groomed trails or exploring untouched powder, your ride is about to get safer and easier to navigate.
New Hampshire – Snowmobile Bridge Repairs (White Mountain National Forest)
Two old snowmobile trail bridges are getting new wood decking thanks to this grant. That means safer crossings and less chance of ending up in a cold stream when the snow’s deep and visibility is low.
Colorado – Trailhead Kiosk Overhaul (GMUG National Forest)
Riding in Grand Mesa, Uncompahgre, and Gunnison? You’ll soon see new kiosks and updated info at trailheads. Better visibility, better maps, and a smoother start to your ride.
Kentucky – OHV Upgrades at Turkey Bay (Land Between the Lakes NRA)
Turkey Bay OHV area is getting a major facelift. Including a new paved entrance turn lane, resurfaced parking, speed bumps, better signage, and expanded day-use and camping areas. More space, more safety, and way fewer headaches.
Why This Matters for the Off-Road Community
Let’s be real, our passion depends on access. Without properly maintained trails, safe crossings, or clearly marked routes, we risk losing the places we love to ride. Polaris is stepping up, not just as a manufacturer, but as a steward of our off-road culture. Their partnership with the NFF is helping make sure that your weekend adventure, group ride, or snowy escape is as epic, and safe, as possible.
As Pam Kermisch, Polaris’ Chief Customer and Growth Officer, put it: “These grants support essential initiatives such as trail restoration, conservation and responsible riding education, to help enable future generations to create lasting outdoor memories.”
We couldn’t agree more.
