Moab, Utah, stands as one of the ultimate proving grounds for any off-road vehicle. Because of its brutal terrain, it quickly separates the contenders from the pretenders. The team from OWL Off-Road recently took several new Ineos Grenadiers deep into this unforgiving landscape to answer a burning question: is this heritage-inspired newcomer a true off-road beast or just a stylish “mall crawler wannabe”?

Led by OWL Off-Road CEO John Wilenborg and including pro-off-road racer Dan Fresh and Adrenaline Vans CEO Tim Hines, the group aimed to push the Grenadiers to their limits.

Willenborg stated they were “captivated by the Ineos Grenadier and decided it was time to find out just how capable these incredible machines are.”

Their itinerary included legendary Moab trails like Steel Bender, Hell’s Revenge, Fins and Things, Poison Spider Mesa, and the formidable Moab Rim.

The initial shakedown on Steel Bender saw some minor cosmetic encounters with the terrain, while Hell’s Revenge quickly tested the vehicles’ climbing prowess. The Grenadiers scaled steep inclines.

“They climbed them like Mountain Goats.” Wilenborg commented. However, Hell’s Gate lived up to its reputation during Wilenborg’s first attempt. “I’m feeling humiliated but I didn’t bend it I just slipped off the wall,” he exclaimed.

Mickey’s Hot Tub also demanded winch assistance. Throughout the days, the team faced typical Moab challenges, and trailside fixes for minor mechanicals became part of the routine. Despite some damage, including Tim Hines, who sarcastically noted “just another shredded part off of my $140,000 toy.”

Wilenborg and the rest of the guys gave some conclusions after days of intense wheeling. “…the Ineos Grenadier isn’t just about rugged looks and Heritage styling it’s the real deal.” The narrator added. “proved itself as an incredibly capable off-road machine far exceeding all expectations.”Tackling Moab’s legendary and brutal trails is the ultimate trial for any 4×4 vehicle. It demands robust construction, excellent articulation, and reliable mechanicals to avoid becoming another casualty of the terrain.

The Ineos Grenadier, as OWL Off-Road’s adventure demonstrated, steps up with serious capability. While not immune to the dents, dings, and occasional recovery that Moab extracts from all who dare, it showed it can consistently conquer extreme obstacles and take its occupants to incredible places.
